Our film is called Perception.
We received postiive feedback about our trailer and poster from David and Faye. Barrington questioned our mental stability.
It fits under the dystopian surrealism genre.
The poster that we created is very dark and clearly targets an audience of hardcore fans of the genre, otherwise known as indie film geeks. We utilise colour very specifically, to ensure that the poster gives off the eery effect that we envisioned it would. At the same time, the poster is very simple and only features one image. The words 'head down' represent the isolation and trapped environment that the protagonist character finds himself in. We took inspiration from the Sex Pistols with the font.
Our tagline is 'Keep your head down, do your work, stay in line'.
The trailer also utilises colour and shadows to add a spooky and weird effect. The music we used was 'HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA', a different version of a song from YouTube. We did this to make the trailer stranger and completely contradict the visuals. There is an audience appeal and promise of pleasure from the reviews on the top of the poster. The editing in our trailer was very good and was done by the deadline set. It features many fades and cuts.
Although our film does not belong to a franchise, people who are fans of films like Brazil or Children of Men will likely be interested in our film.
